Timothy Nadeau Pastor 207-777-1200 PoPportlanddiocese.org The Sacrament of Confirmation   This is the second of the “Sacraments of Christian Initiation.”   This sacrament is usually received in second grade withal with First Eucharist.  This sacrament seals the baptized person with the grace and gifts of the Holy Spirit and gives the person spare strength to live and defend the faith.  Gifts of the Holy Spirit    Wisdom:  The worthiness to see ourselves and others as God sees us.    Understanding:  The worthiness to understand increasingly well-nigh God and the larger mysteries of life.      Council:    The souvenir of using our self-ruling will to do God's will and to make good moral decisions.                         (Also sometimes tabbed "right judgment.")    Fortitude:  The valiance to squatter our fears and to stand up and defend our faith.    Knowledge:  To know God and to see the uniqueness of each other as creations of God.    Piety:   Reverence for all God's creations.  Approaching life with reverence ways we superintendency and    have snooping for ourselves, others, and the world - including the environment.    Fear of the Lord:  A largest understanding of awe and wonder in God's presence.  It helps us    see God in the enormity of the world and in our small presence within it. Receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation For Children:  In the Diocese of Portland, the sacrament of Confirmation is administered in second grade.  Preparation for this sacrament begins in first grade.  To register for preparation classes, contact the Parish Office.   For children third grade through upper school, we are happy to have you receive the sacrament of Confirmation!  Please contact the Parish Office to make arrangements.
